France Gourmet

On May 4th Mr. Romuald Pieters visited to our class and informs us about the French food company ‘FRANCE GOURMET’, where he works as a CEO. I was so interested in, because our presentations were also about the European food, which we showed two weeks before his lecture. We all know that French foods are made by many recipes and good taste with wine. With all those background knowledge, we listened his presentation with great expectation.

When he came to Korea for the first time, he worked at different field. But he started to miss his country, and decided to make French food on his own. He cares about health so much, so he uses only antibiotic pork. We can buy his product at Hyundai and Shinsegae department store, also on online store.
Mr. Pieters brought some food for us. All of the foods were good and one sausage tasted like gochujang. Mr. Pieters said Korean people like to mix Korean food and foreign food. That’s why he mixed gochujang in the sausage.
It was good time to getting knowledge better about French food and the company “French Gourmet”.

Usually I knew that France is famous for food. And as I presented European food once I realize that French food is so various. On May 4th class, I encountered directly French food by "France Gourmet". It was a good chance. Not simply a person in charge of France Gourmet's explain but I could taste foods. So the class was a meaningful. Before I tasted french food, I thought that it is a rich and not fit my taste. But french sausage was delicious. The presenter brought a Brochure that was written about France Gourmet's food. I compared menu and price. If I have a chance I will access France Gourmet's website for purchasing. Thanks to France Gourmet I knew realistic French food.

There was a special lecture by CEO of France Gourmet, which is a french food company, at Europe Trade and Commercial class (유럽통상학) on May 4th. I'm really interested in food, so I like watching tv shows dealiing with food and also like cooking. That's the reason why I made and gave my first presentation "European Food". Also it was so amazing to see some processes that in-flight food is made in detail through last field trip at LSG Sky Chefs company.
Our team gave a presentation about food from German, Franch, and Spain, but especially French food is so famous because it looks fancy, tastes so great and it has also various type of food.
I could keep concentrating on that lecture because that title was what we already dealt with. We could eat some various food including ham and those food tasted so good. I thought that "Oh it's french food tasty!" France Gourmet was established in Seoul in 2013, with the vision of three french to show the traditional tasty of french food to Korea. Mr. Romuald Pieters, the CEO of France Gourmet described that All products must be handmade and Franch Gourmet uses only non-frozen domestic meat. There are four parts of Franch Gourmet's food and it consists of sausage, charcuteries, fresh meat, and cheese and some products are made for only Koreans's taste. All those products can be ordered online or via email and also can be purchased at Shinsegye and Hyundai department store.
There was no opportunity to experience French food even though I already knew that French food is one of the famous food in the world, So it was so impressive time and I'd definitely love to purchase and eat the products of France Gourmet.

BMW Driving Center

On May 11th we went to BMW Driving Center near Incheon Airport. We visited the facilities and Mr Torben Karasek (CFO) made a presentation about BMW Korea.



I like cars, and when we went to BMW driving center it was a surprise!!! This is so funny and super! BMW is such an old company, since 1916. I found out, that this company produces Rolls-Royce and Mini. And BMW is producing Motorrad!! BMWs Mottorad is super
All of the all BMW car and Motorrad design is pretty and awesome! During my first English presentation I was nervous. But this experience was a good time! This presentation is covering BMWs history and cars.

French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry



On May 18th Mr. Lucas Boudet, Secretary General of the FKCCI (French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry) was our guest. And he introduces what is FKCCI and their business.
He introduced that FKCCI is the partner of business between Korea and France. Since 1986, the French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry poses as the representative and voice of French-Korean business community in Korea. And they have a many membership companies-more than 340 members, more than 240 French and Korean companies- to build their successful business in both countries.
And then he presented their 4 major works:
1. Support companies in their development on the Korean and French markets with customized services
2. Develop a network of close partnerships with French and Korean organizations
3. Propose a function of the current events
4. Promote their membership companies by using communication tool

And second part, he introduced to us the benefits for the members of the FKCCI. Once we become a member of the FKCCI, we can work as a member of business community composed of more than 300 companies which are deployed in France and Korean companies and more than 1,000 business leaders.
Specifically, he told that we can expand the business network and business opportunities. And we can enhance the corporate reputation, and share information about trends provided by the FKCCI.

At the end of the announcement, he gave the information about the application for the event.
He told that FKCCI has been organizing various types of events fostering bilateral exchanges between Korea and France since 1986. For 28 years, more than 50 well-known annual events with 4,000 participants every year from formal business conferences to luxury networking events have been organized and have gathered not only French-Korean business community but also individuals willing to share and enjoy great moments with the Chamber.
Through these events, FKCCI has gained experience, recognition and know-how, and is now offering you a customized “all-inclusive” event service platform.

Through this lecture, we get much realistic information about FKCCI. We can use these information to apply to FKCCI, or, if we will work in a company related to French-Korea business, to get benefits.

Even though class time was limited, it was a great time to listen about chamber's major business.



Advantage Austria

On May 25th Advantage Austria, Mr. Franz Schröder, Head of Austrian Business Office visited us and presented Austria. He gave presents to the students, it was a 'redbull', one of the Austria's beverage. I first knew that 'redbull' is made in Austria.
He introduces about Austria, gave quiz about Austria.
The Republic of Austria is a federal republic and a landlocked country of over 8.66 million people in Central Europe. It is bordered by the Czech Republic and Germany to the north, Hungary and Slovakia to the east, Slovenia and Italy to the south, and Switzerland and Liechtenstein to the west. German is Austria's official language, the second largest population of linguistic and ethnic groups are the Turks. And Austria has been a member of the United Nations since 1955, joined the European Union in 1995, and is a founder of the OECD, and adopted the euro currency in 1999.
He also presented Advantage Austria Korea. He said to us if you want to know about importing from Austria, exporting to Austria, and working in Austria, visit the homepage of Advantage Austria.
I think Austria is livable, he was proud of his country. I am going to search more information of Austria.



DeLonghi


HyeongMin Park

Mr. Eric, the CEO of the De'Longhi Kenwood Korea, visited our university to introduce his group to us on June 1. He talked about a brief history of the De'Longhi group, its products, his life, and where he had worked. I was kind of surprised that he didn't work for the group from the beginning unlike what I had thought.

Next, he talked about the each important keyword in the group. First, that of De'Longhi was coffee and Italy as a specialized coffee machine company. Second, Braun was making the juice in 15 seconds and he said this point goes well for customers in Korea. Third, Kenwood was baking and UK style. Finally, I thought each company succeeded well its unique identity so far since the start of the company by these keywords.

At the end of the presentation, he said that Marketing isn't a simple calculation but making customers go to market. And he told the most important thing was 'people' in the company operation. I thought this thing was the secret of so long management.

After he left, our team gave a presentation about household products in Europe and Korea and the De'Longhi Group. The contents were the definition of the household products, its features and its trends in European and Korean markets, the history of De'Longhi group and its subsidiary, financial highlights, product introduction, recruiting process, marketing, visit to the concept store, and etc.

Honestly, I didn't know De'Longhi. The coffee machine that I knew was only Nescafe. But while preparing this presentation, I learned much about the De'Longhi group. Especially, the most interest thing was the Latte Crema System. This system has many functions. I thought I could be able to drink special coffee like a professional barista if I used that machine. Unlike other products, it was interesting that it uses the coffee beans. Because I knew that the coffee machine only uses capsules.

It was the first time to present in English. So it was really hard to prepare it, but it was a special experience that I may not be able to have this experience in the future.

Through this presentation, I am interested in the household products that I didn't usually do at the mart. And I learned that there are different products preferred between Europe and Korea. I hope the new and a lot of product will meet a variety of customers around the world including me.

GeonHo Bae

In preparation for household products presentation, I know that the category of the house hold products is really large. and i know that europe is powerful at the field of household products.
 
On june 1th, Mr. Eric de Castelbajac, CEO, Delonghi, He explained about his company and products with confidence. His presentation is perfect, and products of Delonghi is so pretty and usability. In his presentation, pride was felt. For me it was the reason is why Delonghi is the best company about their territory.
Thanks to the DeLonghi, was familiar with the house hold products. So, for me, this class was a very meaningful. Thank you.

MinSu Kang

On 1st June, Mr. Eric de Castelbajac who is CEO of company ‘De’longhi’ visited to our class and informed about his company. When I heard at first about this company, I had frankly no ideas about that. But I had to do the presentation about this company so, I tried to be interested in this company and I found a lot of interesting information about it. Furthermore, I found that this company is strong in the market of coffee machine. It was very attractive to me because I like the coffee a lot.

After his presentation, I was so attracted to this company. At first, his presentation was so perfect to understand us about his work in Korea. Also, his presentation was a little bit different to the presentation of other companies. He really wanted to explain what he does here and what the business is for him. So, he explained how to do the business with his pictures of work place. He said that the business is not just to have a meeting and a conversation, on the other hand, the business is to show what he can do, for example, he showed the products and how to use this product to his contractors. So, in effect, one of employees baked a cake for the contractors to show how to use their products easily.

In addition, there are 2 different subsidiaries companies, Kenwood and Braun. In fact, I didn’t know about the Kenwood, but the company Braun is so famous to us. Actually, I used the shaver of Braun and I thought that the line of shaver of this company is much better than the other company. So, I realized that this company ‘De’longhi’ is larger than I thought before.
